Leasing office space by the month.

Have you considered shared office space when leasing office space, otherwise known as coworking space?  If you do not need an office 24/7, 365, and you have a tight budget, this is worth pursuing.  Coworking space is rapidly gaining in popularity, and really took off during the COVID years when companies realized that remote work was a viable option.  With coworking space, you work in a communal atmosphere with other execs from other companies.  You only rent by the month, and the price reflects that short term rental approach. Utilities are included, as is Wi-Fi, and you are not faced with renting furniture or purchasing signage or any of the other decisions you would face if you rented traditional office space for rent.

A truly creative suggestion.

We are going to break the mode with this suggestion, but did you know that many self-storage facilities now have small shops for rent?  Our own Blue Mound 287 Self Storage, and Mouser Self Storage, offer small shops for rent, we are talking 1000 square feet of space, for less than $1000 per month, and we guarantee you will not find office space that cheap anywhere else in Fort Worth.

Put a desk in, a filing cabinet, and you have an office space to work from.  With 24/7 access, electricity, and lights, this might just be a perfect solution for a cash-strapped small business, provided you don’t need to meet with clients, and you don’t do cash transactions from your office.

How about a shipping container? Or . . . ?

If you have some undeveloped property, you might consider purchasing a used shipping container and transforming it into an office space, rather than leasing office space. That is what we have done at Box Office Warehouse Suites, an entire business park in North Fort Worth made up entirely from recycled, retrofitted, professionally designed shipping containers. They are inexpensive, mobile, and can be retrofitted easily.  Just sayin’ . . .
