WORK WITH THE PROS AT RDS REAL ESTATE

You might be surprised how many business owners we meet during a week who are quite nervous about leasing office space.  Looking for commercial property for rent in Fort Worth is a daunting task for many.

“We” is RDS Real Estate in Fort Worth, Texas, but more about that later.

Consider this: one in four adults in the United States owns a home-based business.  These are people who, for the most part, have never been involved in the business world, but need a few extra bucks, so they put together a business which could be run from their spare bedroom, or garage, and they do everything with one eye on expenses and one eye on the heavens above.  Many of them do not succeed, but there is a decent percentage of them who do succeed, and those people eventually need to look to rent office space in Fort Worth . . . so it’s a bit daunting and scary when that time comes to look for a place for your business.

The first thing to understand, in gaining confidence, is leasing office space in the DFW area is not a whole lot different than renting a home or apartment.  Sure, there are specific restrictions you have to agree with, but a contract is a contract is a contract.  You clarify the specific of that contract, you sign on the dotted line, you pay your lease payment, and you move in. If that process is just too nerve-wracking for you, take the leasing agreement to a lawyer and have them look it over.  It might cost $100 to do so, but it will alleviate fears you might have.

So, we’ve alleviated those immediate fears, but something else needs to be done so that you can find the exact piece of office space you need . . . you need to work closely with your commercial real estate agent, and that agent needs to be an established and trusted member of the real estate industry.

Do not find your commercial real estate agent online by choosing the first listing you see.  Ask around.  Talk to other business owners who are leasing office space.  Get their recommendations.  Trust in those who have already walked your particular path.  Check with the Better Business Bureau for recommendations.  If this seems like overkill, think again.  You are making one of the most important business decisions in your career, so take your time and choose a leasing agent wisely.

And if you live and work in the Greater Fort Worth area, that choice will ultimately be RDS Real Estate.
